Two Korean warships ROKN Chi Young and ROKN Cheonji had called port in Chennai from nov 15-18 ... ^^ It was a friendly trip to promote mutual understanding between India and Korea ... ^^ During there stay they had the marina beach clean up event , where all the Korean navy people took part in cleaning the marina beach along with the Indian navy and other residents ...^^ Can you see me in the pic... ???? kk i think i was the only Indian girl in the group pic above ... ^___~~~~~~~ kk It was really nice of the korean navy to take up the marina clean up campaign and do something for the society on their visit ... ^^
They did a really amazing job ...the beach was clean and beautiful thanx to them ... ^o^ They have set a good example for everyone to follow ... ^^ I hope we would continue to maintain the beach in a good way ... ^^ A big thank you to the korean navy for coming all the way here to Chennai ...it was really wonderful to meet them and help them in their campaign .... :) Something i alwayz like to say ---> India & Korea are best friendz forever ... :D HURRAY .... !!!! ^___________^

An article came in the DC paper today about the Korean Bazaar that was held on Aug 16 ... ^^
I was really surprised when i woke up in the morning and daddy said ---> you are in the newspaper.... kkkkk ^__~~~~~~ Alwayz very happy to be a part of korean events ... ^o^ 16th Aug , Went to the 1st Korean bazaar held in Chennai... ^^ It really good to see that there is increase in the Korean activities that are happening in Chennai ...^^ Apart from stage shows we also had the beach clean up event and now we had the Korean bazaar ...i wonder what will happen next .... looking forward to more such wonderful events in the future.... ^o^ There were many stalls at the bazaar ...^^ In the playground they had set up food stalls where you could get korean food like bibimbap , kimbap , Dukbokki , Spicy pancake etc and also drinks like lemonade , americano , iced ginseng tea and korean mix coffee ... ^o^ It was nice talking to them mixing little bit of korean and english ... ^^ (wish the time would come soon when i would be able to talk in complete korean ... fighting...!!!! ;) ) ... ^^ In the playground they had set up a huge bowl of bibimbap ... ^___^ Which later was mixed by many people including me & daddy .... ^o^ While i was mixing the bibimbap a korean lady who was standing next to me said that i was very good at it ....kk gomawoyo ... ^_______^ After bibimbap was mixed well it was served to the people present at the event .. and everyone enjoyed the delicious bibimbap ... ^o^ Daddy having fun mixing bibimbap ... ^o^ (Extreme left) He alwayz takes part actively in all Korean events .... ^_^ thank you so much daddy for alwayz supporting me with what i like and helping me in pursuing my passion .... ^^ You are the best ... love ya daddy ... ^o^ Moving on to the auditorium ... ^^There were more stalls inside the auditorium...where they had set up stalls selling clothes , accessories , stationary and books .... ^^ In the auditorium there were performances going on by indian and korean performers ... ^^ it made the atmosphere even more amazing .... ^___^ Some Pics on display at the auditorium ... ^^![]() I did some Shopping .... !!! I am alwayz thankful to everyone for appreciating my love & passion for korea.... ^^ Hoping to meet everyone again sooooooon ... ^____^ ![]() 12 April 2014 - Took part in the Marina beach clean up campaign organized by the Korean association in Chennai ... ^^ So today I cleaned the beach along with many korean people ... kkk To start off i woke up today at 5:30 am ( can you believe that ...kkkk :P) we ( daddy & me ) arrived at the beach before the given time 7am ( i alwayz like to go early to korean events ...kk ) ^^ It was really nice to see so many korean people and do something good for the city along with them... :D So we put on the cap .. wore the gloves ... took the bags and started cleaning the beach ...( it was a really good early morning exercise ) kkkkkk After we were done we got to take a group pic ... this time the group was huge .... ^^ Then spent time drinking cold coffee and talking with my korean friendz ... :) So overall had a really wonderful time at the beach .... ;) ![]() Four walls by Sincha Hong ... one of the most famous avant-garde dancer from korea , considered to be one of the most influential artist of the 20th century ... ^^ ![]() The show was really nice ...^^ wonderful piano music ...amazing lighting effects & ofcourse smooth dancing ... ^^ Like alwayz had a great time meeting & talking to korean people including the performing artist , consul general & his wife and other people from the Consulate & Korean association in Chennai ... ^o^ ...It was just amazing ... Lot of them even recognized me as i have been going to all the events and appreciated my passion & love for korea ... that felt really gooooooood .... :D made me super happpppy .... ;) haha
We even got to eat some yummy korean snacks & also got to drink some tasty Korean drinks ... ^o^ Had a really good fun time ... ^_^ Pyeon Gyang Baekdu Halla Art Troupe ... ^_^ To begin with at the event 99.9% people were korean ... ^^ so we (me & daddy) felt we are in korea ... yaaaaaay ... ;) (amazing feeling) kkkkk The event was really awesome .... ^^ amazing rocking music ... beautiful dances and really really really lovely costumes ... (loved the hanboks) ... :D ![]() There were a lot of kids at this event ...each one of them was totally adorable & cute ....:D Some of them had a good fun time on the stage with the MC of the show... ^o^ It felt really good to meet talk and see so many Korean people & watch the wonderful performances ...loved it ... ^___^

Lets spread the Korean love .... ^o^ ![]() 22 Feb 2014 ... I got the opportunity to visit the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in my city Chennai ... ^^ Had a wonderful day at the Korean consulate ... ^^ Firstly a big heartfelt thank you to the Consul General of Korea and everyone associated for organizing this amazing event ... it was an honor meeting and talking to the Consul General & Mrs.Consul General and all the other people at the consulate... ^^ ![]() Lovely view of the city from the consulate ... ^_^ i did not know my city has such a lovely view ....i think it was the effect of being in the consulate that everything felt so beautiful and special ... ^o^ kkkkkk ![]() Had a very fun filled day... got to make some lovely new friendz ... ^^ we also played games and i won the 3 posters and fan ...yaaay ... ^o^ ![]() We also got to eat Yummy Korean Food .... ^_^ And discuss things about Korea and lots more .... ^____^ ![]() The National Gugak Orchestra , To begin with the show was really mind blowing....amazing music ...^^ You can feel the soul of Korea in their music ....totally enchanting... :) During their performance they also played music of some Bollywood Songs(Indian) and were accompanied by Bollywood singers on stage ... ^^ They also played the national anthem of India .... ^o^ ![]() After the event i got to meet once again the Deputy consul general Mr.Jung Taek Lim , i was really happy that he remembered me ....he introduced me to Mr. Kong Woo Young ( Conductor & Art Director , National Gugak Orchestra ) and also told him that she speaks korean very well..... kkkk then i spoke to the art director and told him how wonderful the show was and that i really liked it ..he was really a very kind person.... ^_^ I saw that the deputy consel general had worn a badge which had an indian and korean flag along with number 40 written on it , as indo and korea are celebrating 40 years of diplomatic relations .. i said that the badge was really nice and deputy counsel general took it from this coat and gave it to me .. it was really a big honor to receive it from him ...i will treasure it forever.. its truly very precious ... ^__^ I also got to meet the other members of gugak orchestra ....all were very friendly and sweet and as alwayz surprised at my korean and gave me lot of compliments for it ... made me feel so so so happy.... :D ![]() Also at the event there was a very very very cute small korean boy who became my friend...kkk he was sitting in the seat in front of me and he turned around and was smiling and i was like annyeong...i told his mom that your kid is very cute in korean and she was happy and complimented me on my korean....kk he was a really adorable kid .... we were playing sitting in the concert hall..... kkk So to conclude had an amazing happy wonderful day ... ^___^ October 1 , 2013 - Inspiring Korea , A riveting performance by Jinjo Crew and Queen ... ^o^3/16/2014 Inspiring Korea by Jinjo Crew (World B-Boy Champions) & Queen (traditional music group with a contemporary twist ) was really very inspiring ... ^____^ The show was really amazing & mind blowing .....awesome dance by the bboys and wonderful music by queen ... ^__^ ![]() I got the opportunity to talk to Deputy Consul General Mr.Jung Taek Lim and MR. K.H. Shin , Chairman of Korean Association which was a great honor ... ^o^ And as alwayz got complimented on my Korean & my passion for Korea ...it made me really very happy ... ^___^ ![]() More about the show - the performances were amazing .... this time at the event most of them were korean people... lot of cute korean kids.... sitting in the concert hall surround by lots of korean people i forgot that i am in india , i felt i was in korea..... kkkk in the end bboys and queen danced to gangnam style which was really fun....^o^ The bboys even got down from the stage and danced near the audience this made the audience really excited and lot of people started dancing in their seats , the kids where enjoying dancing the most (they looked so cute)... when the show ended the audience including me ofcourse we asked for "once more " as we thoroughly enjoyed the performance and it was really nice of the bboys to dance some more for us .... ^^ hurray .... ^__^ Inspiring Korea event was held to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Indo - Korea diplomatic relations ... ^^ Long wonderful friendship between the countries ... ^^ But the relationship between the 2 countries goes back to history ...when during the Gaya kingdom , King Kim Soo Ro married the Indian Princess Heo Hwang Ok ... ^^ I alwayz hope that the friendship between the 2 countries will alwayz grow and become more stronger just like the friendship between me & my korean friendz ... ^o^
I really hope that someday i might be able to do something to strengthen the bonds of friendship between India & Korea .... ^_^ aja aja fighting ....!!!! :D Tales Of Haruk By Performance Group Tuida ... ^^ Firstly the show was really amazing …it was a beautiful show from the music to the lovely puppets and the background effects…everything was marvelous …. ^^ The musical instruments, props, costumes and puppets were made from traditional and eco-friendly materials.
After the show was over they announced that we could have a chat with the director of the play Mr. Bae Yo- Sup. So after the show some people stayed back and then it began … ^^ who ever wanted to say something raised their hands and the mike was given to them to speak and ask what they wanted too. I was like yaaaay I will get a chance to tell how much I enjoyed the show..so when I saw the guy (Indian) who was handling over the mike , I raised my hand and he was like no time over….i was like huh how can this happen (in my mind) … ??? I no way wanted to let go of this chance to express how thankful I was to the performers for coming here and performing for us. There was a lady along with the guy (both Indian) she said lets have one more question…who would it be ….I was excited this was my last chance….I could feel some people lifting their hands …so immediately I said loudly yeogi …. at that point that was the word that came to my mind ..and when they looked at me I started talking… did not wait for the guy to bring me the mike ( I can speak loud enough I did not need the mike…I had to take this chance… :P) if I had used English I might have been one of the audience but I used Korean , so I was different …. ;) kkkkkkk This is what I said annyeonghaseyo … mannaseo bangabseubnida ….I want to say that they show was really amazing…from the music to puppets to background everything was awesome….jeongmal kamsahamnida for coming here and letting us see the wonderful show ….. and happy independence day to Korea and then I looked at the audience and said India ( this fact quite surprised a lot of people there …kkkkkkk ) . After it was over I got to speak to the director and tell him personally that how wonderful the show was and had a handshake too … ^^ I also said hanguk manhi sarangahe….( its my tag line I guess , every Korean person I met I have to say it..kkkkk ) And while I was heading out of the auditorium Rathi Jafer Mam (Director of INKO CENTRE) said , what you said that was very impressive , my happiness doubled ….kkkk ^____^ Outside the auditorium I got to meet the actor from the play and talk to him ….as always I start with annyeonghaseyo…^^ kkkk he was going somewhere so I told him he can finish what he was going to do and then we could talk so I pointed to a place and said gidarilge …^^ kkkkkkkkk I told him the show was very good…daebak … and that he was nomu meosissda … ^__^ kkkkk then I thanked him and said fighting …. !!!! ^_^ All the Korean people I have met during the shows have always been very kind, polite and friendly … its always a great pleasure meeting and talking to them.….!!!! ^___^ Li & Sa (Buddhist Music Project) By Be-Being - Another amazing event ... a wonderful confluence of Korean traditional recorded & computer processed sounds and Buddhist chants guided by the Buddhist priest ...^^ The music is played , mixed & engineered with electronic sounds , now isn't that something interesting ... ^_^

Woyzeck was a good entertaining event where the performers used chairs in various ways which was quite interesting... ^^ Ha Yong Bu is the Artistic Director of Dulsori and is one of Korea’s national treasures, listed as Korean Intangible Asset No: 68- Milyang Bakjung Nori or Virtuoso Dancer over 3 Generations.
DULSORI is a Korean traditional arts organisation which aims to rekindle the spirit of ancient Korean festivals on the modern stage.Through mesmerizing rhythms of percussion and drums and enchanting vocals and dynamic choreography . Ha Yong Bu & Dulsori (Contemporary Korean Percussion)...This event was really very energetic and breathtaking ... ^^ the stage had drums of different sizes and when the performers started to play it was just mind blowing ... such wonderful music that you would want ask for more & more .... ^^ it was truly a colorful energetic and passionate performance that will make your heart beat fast along the rising beats of the drum.. ^_^ ![]() Kkok-du by Creative Group Noni ...Traditional performance with a particular focus on recreating the motif of Korea’s traditional 'Kkok-du or puppet & marionette play. With puppets, masks and shadows, traditional Korean instrumentation, music and movement, the play combines the traditional puppet performance of Kkodu Gaksi Norum with a contemporary re-working of traditional techniques. Kkok-du was really fun and interesting ... ^^ getting to see a korean puppet show isn't it awesome ... :D the performance takes you to another world where the story takes place with wonderful storytelling music and ofcourse lovely puppets ...^^ ![]() After the show got over we got to meet the performers and take pics with them ......^^ the performers were sooooooo friendly , humble & polite ..wow..it was just tooooo good ....i was talking in the little korean i knew...^^ kk but i have to say that i really like the surprised expression they give when i speak with them in korean...^^ I cant never forget how a female performer from Kkok-du held on to my hand and talked to me ... it was a very heart touching moment ... it feels really good when korean people appreciate my love for korea and all the care i receive from them ...^^ ![]() And i was lucky i got a chance to meet and talk with Ms.Sukhee Lee ,Visiting Faculty Korean language at INKO centre, she was very friendly and a very kool person ....^^ it was a pleasure talking with mam ...we were even talking about kpop and korean singers...^__^ i spoke with mam in the little korean i know , she said i spoke very well....i told her how passionate i am towards korea and lots more and mam appreciated and motivated me in pursuing my passion ... ^^Then my dad spoke about how i am a big korean fan , he said she is ready to go to korea , if you ask her to go tomorrow she would be ready to go , i said - mam if you want to i can leave for korea right away.....hahaha ^^ ![]() I alwayz feel really happy when i meet korean people and i am able to tell them how much i love korea.....^^ My pic with the group even came up at INKO Centre's website ...^^ wow...i look like i was part of the group too ... ^o^ kkkkkk Heungbu Nolbu , Theatre Seoul's Musical was based on the popular Korean folktale 'Heungbu and Nolbu' . The performers consisted of Indian and Korean children ... ^^
The performance was really beautiful ... wonderful story , great acting , colorful costumes & beautiful stage set up made the show really magical ....^^ it was great to watch the wonderful team work of indian & korean children ... ^_^ March 29, 2011 - Spectacular Korea – Traditional and Contemporary Korean music and dance ... ^o^3/16/2014 Spectacular Korea the first Korean event i went too and the first time i got to meet Korean people in real and interact with them ... ^^ so this event was really very special to me ...it almost felt like a dream ... ^^ kk The show was really awesome ...it had traditional korean dances and modern bboy dance by "LAST FOR ONE" (B-boy World Champions , Won 1st place at the Battle of the Year in 2005) ...^ o^ the performances were mind blowing ...it truly was spectacular ...loved it so much ... :D I was so excited to go to the event ... i was gonna see people from the country that i liked so much for the first time ... i had alwayz seen korean people in kpop videos , kdrama & pictures and meeting them in person it was the first time ... :D when i went to the event i could see many korean people and when i saw them i said "annyeonghaseyo" while tilting my head (exactly the way how korean people meet & greet each other) and there were pleasantly surprised seeing a person from another country speaking in their language ... then they replied back to my greeting with a big smile ... ^___^ there were many korean people who were giving out pamphlets at the event and when they gave it to me i said "Kamsahamnida" and they replied with a big smile too ... ^_^ Lucky me , the first korean person i got to talk was a member of d b-boyin group "LAST FOR ONE" ... ^o^....I said annyeonghaesyo and he replied back very politely ... ^^ i said i am a big fan of korea and said somethings in korean like hanguk daebak & hanguk nomu nomu saranghae and he was like WOW U SPEAK KOREAN SO WELL ....^___^ kkkk i said i can speak little korean ...then i asked if we could take a picture ..he said ofcource and we took a pic ... ^o^ then i spoke to some other people at the event and clicked few pics...^^I was really lucky that i got a change to go up on the stage and take a group pic with the bboys ...that pic will alwayz be the most special picture to me ... :) It felt so good meeting & talking to Korean people ... ^^ they were very kind polite humble & friendly ... ^o^ It was one of the most memorable day of my life ... :D |
